building vs prebuilt in 2026 - honest comparison needed

teenager wants gaming PC and im torn between building or buying prebuilt. building looks complicated but prebuilts seem overpriced. whats the REAL cost benefit? is the learning experience worth potential headaches? 🤔

Prebuilts arent terrible anymore tbh. If you value warranty and support they have their place. But yeah building is cheaper and more fun

Building teaches troubleshooting skills. When something goes wrong later they can fix it themselves instead of sending the whole PC back. Thats valuable long term

Building saves $200-300 easy. Plus you know exactly what parts youre getting. Prebuilts often cheap out on PSU and motherboard. If your kid is interested in tech its a great learning experience
